The Mumbai police have registered a case of sexual harassment against a senior Royal Bank of Scotland executive for allegedly harassing a female colleague by sending her inappropriate messages. The FIR against Jai Jingar, Country Executive (India), RBS, was filed by a senior employee, police said.

They added that an offence under IPC sections 354A (sexual harassment) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and under provisions of the The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. This Act now supersedes the Vishaka Guidelines for sexual harassment at workplaces, set by the Supreme Court.
